NYFW Oscar de la Renta FW12
Leave it to Oscar de la Renta to create an even more luxurious fabric “cashgora” – a combination of cashmere and angora – for his fall 2012 collection, which just screams luxury. De la Renta’s target customer is usually much more mature, but some of the youthful accents hint at a younger client. Jewels were the main inspiration for his collections and many of the pieces had large prints on heirloom broaches and giant crystals. Some pieces were adorned with jewel pendants that were sewn directly to the garment while other pieces sparkled on their own. De la Renta used textured fabrics such as sparkling tweed, lace on nude chiffon, and silver embroidery on cashmere sweaters and satin dresses. Fur also made an appearance on the runway with his sporty vests and jackets and was contrasted with pastel pink and chilly blue that still looked extremely luxurious. Romantic gowns were also a part of his collections, with outstanding rows of taffeta ruffles. Oscar accessorized many outfits with jeweled headbands and statement shoes. Oscar de la Renta is on fire at 80 years old and BeTrendMe cannot wait to see what he has in store for the fashion world next season! Great work, Oscar!
