Whitney Port’s Must Haves: Glossy Lids
Self-made fashion expert Whitney Port is stepping out this summer with a unique pop of color, for Whit this season it’s all about the glossy lids! BeTrendMe loves this simple step-by-step process that will add that extra oomph to your look and give your eyes a little more attention. The best part is that you can work with any shade, making this summer must have perfect for anyone! Find out how Whitney perfects this look!
First, gather your materials, concealer, a shadow brushes, your favorite eye shadows, mascara, a glossy eye shadow stick and if you’re feeling extra shiny, petroleum jelly for that extra sheen!
It’s always best to start with a fresh, clean face, to make sure your make-up is applied properly and will last! Grab your concealer to fill in any dark spots, BTM recommends Sephora Full-Cover Concealer, avaliable in a variety of shades, this product is water-proof, oil-free and long lasting, and BTM loves the natural look that its matte finish gives off!
Next Whitney says to apply your glossy eye shadow stick over your entire lid, we love Sephora’s Aqua Lid pencil, the long-lasting color does not smudge and give a fabulous sheen and intensity to your eyes. Once you’ve covered both lids, grab your shadows and using your blending brush, blend the color(s) with your now glossy lid! For a sophisticated, glam look, BTM likes intensifying neutrals and golds, try Physicians Formula Baked Sands or Stila’s French Riviera Set to get the perfect chic trio. To finish off the color, grab a highlighter, like MAC’s Bare Study Paint Point and apply a layer over the entire lid.
Now, for the piece de resistance, to get that glossy flare wet your shadow brush, Sephora has a Classic All Over Small Shadow Brush, extremely versatile and perfect for this effect, make sure to dab the excess water off onto a towel, and as Whit suggests, in one gentle sweep, take the wet brush over each lid making sure to move in one direction. Use your petroleum jelly, BTM suggests Vaseline, and gently glide over your color for extreme gloss.
