BTM Beauty: Lauren Conrad’s Acne Fighting Foods
BeTrendMe loves Lauren Conrad’s website which is always full of awesome tips from fashion to fitness. Recently, she posted her top ten acne fighting foods and BTM wants to share them with you! LC tells us that eating the right food is a big part of keeping our skin clear, who knew?! BeTrenders should avoid foods like white breads and white potatoes and swap for food that are rich in Vitamin A like peppers or sweet potatoes instead. Food with Vitamin A help contain your skins elasticity. Foods that contain Omega-3 fatty acids are things like salmon and walnuts, and they reduce inflammation and give skin an instant glow. Antioxidants help your body fight off anything that might be bad for it, so foods like spinach are great for you. Selenium and Vitamin C are good for skin because Selenium, like Vitamin A, keeps the elasticity in your skin (lots of almonds!!) and Vitamin C boots your immune system. Foods that have lots of Vitamin E, like nuts and eggs, are great because Vitamin E is known to prevent scarring. You can also get liquid Vitamin E to rub over cuts and blemishes to help reduce scarring! Lastly, we know to drink lots of water because it clears the toxins in your body, but eating foods with a lot of water and very little sodium (watermelons!) keep your skin hydrated and glowing.
