Cool Collaborations: Ebay X CFDA

The CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) and Ebay are teaming up for the Ebay Holiday Collective. Ebay tapped designers Billy Reid, Chris Benz, Fallon, Jonathan Adler, Ruffian, Steven Alan and Tibi for the exclusive holiday collection. Designers including Narciso Rodriguez, Alexander Wang, and Rebecca Minkoff have all done exclusives with Ebay in the past, and the high fashion quotient of the auction site is definitely going up. In March 2012, Ebay collaborated with 75 designers for the “You Can’t Fake Fashion” campaign to discourage counterfeiting in the fashion industry. For the holiday collective, the designers created over 40 gifts, including women’s and men’s apparel, jewelry, accessories and home decor. Prices will range from $50 to $100 (no bidding–they’re all “Buy It Now”), and US and international shipping will be free. Each designer created at least five items for the collection. In addition to the collections, each designer is compiling shoppable “wish lists” for eBay items that they’re coveting, so you can see what your favorite designers are shopping for this holiday season. It will be interesting to see what the designers come up with, and we’ll definitely check out this collab for holiday shopping this year.
