With the holidays just around the corner here at BeTrendMe we thought we would take a look back on our favorite trends from 2012. Color Blocking was seen everyone this year from jackets to pants. What’s great about this trend is it is so versatile you can still wear it this winter BeTrenders! Bold prints were a great way to add an edge to an outfit and make your basic pieces stand out such as with a bold printed bottom. Pastel hues dominated the runways this year from lilac to mint green to pastel pink. Whether it was a dress or dip dyed hair, we’re looking at you Charlotte Free, pastels were crucial for 2012′s fashion. Metallics were the perfect way to dress up a basic outfit from daywear to a night on the town, whether it was with a pair of silver leggings or a silver blazer. Peplum was spotted everywhere this year from the mall to Kate Middleton. This trend adds elegance and makes for a more formal look. We cannot wait to see what next year’s biggest trends will be!

If you have not watched one of Bad Lip Reading’s youtube videos, stop what you’re doing and prepare to laugh uncontrollably. The creators take popular videos and scenes from movies and put what it looks like the character is saying when you read their lips, which are usually outrageous and random. There are currently 35 videos ranging from Twilight, the 2012 debate, scenes from movies and popular music videos. Here at BeTrendMe our personal favorite is still the “Edward and Bella” video. These videos are definitely perfect for when you’ve had a bad day. But be warned BeTrenders, once you watch one video you’ll want to watch them all!

Gwyneth Paltrow is at it again! Just in time for the holiday season the “Goop” creator Gwyneth Paltrow has designed some fashionable colors for the amazing nail polish line Butter London. The trio includes three shades “Hampstead Heath” a mossy green with a golden undertone, “Bread & Butter Pudding” a sheer ivory and “Abso-bloody-lutely” deep cherry opaque red. To match the health conscious Gwyneth, the polishes are “toxic free”. The trio is already available online for $36. BeTrendMe thinks this trio is the perfect set to grab for girl on your shopping list. (We secretly hope we’ll find this trio in our stockings this Christmas!) 2012 was a great year for trends of all kinds, BeTrendMe is going to show you our fave top five beauty trends from 2012. The first trend that BTM loves is the bold lip. The bold lip is a great trend, and anyone can wear this trend, there are a variety of versions of it. For spring and summer, you can wear a bright pink, or orange and for autumn or winter the look can still be transitioned into a deeper fuchsia or a darker orange. The next trend that BTM loves is bold brows. This trend has graced runways everywhere, and this trend is super easy to achieve. BTM loves the way a bold brow frames the eyes! BTM loves the fresh faced/au natural look that has been popping up everywhere. It is a great look for daytime, for school, and for a day of shopping with your girls! Lip stains are a fab way to have some color on your lips, without the weight or thickness of a lipstick. Lip stains come in variety of colors and shades, from bright bold colors, to darker hues. BTM has noticed that everyone seems to ranting and raving about BB Creams! A BB Cream is an “all-in-one” facial cosmetic that has a serum, moisturizer, primer, foundation, and sunblock all in the same product. It can be worn alone as a tinted moisturizer, over serum and moisturizer as a regular foundation, and under powder. The coverage is buildable. There is nothing like getting a manicure to feel girly, but who has the time to get one regularly? Are nails go through so much and it is hard to keep our polish looking fresh. GRIP2 is your basic umbrella but with a new added feature. We all know once the wind picks up our umbrella becomes useless however, the GRIP2 has a second grip handle which is supposed to decrease the amount of pressure placed on the handle during big winds. The creator, Dan O’Donnell, claims it is 70% easier to control the GRIP2 in wind if you are holding the grip. The new grip has a lock/release lever that allows you to position the grip wherever feels most comfortable. The umbrella is 54 inches and 43.5 inches long, features a dual canopy, fiberglass shaft and ribs, and comes in: navy, black, black/white, navy/white, and can be purchased for $54.95. Topshop can be very picky when it comes to choosing designers to collaborate with. Which makes us that much more excited to see Australian born Jordan Askill jewelry collection! From swallow cuffs to simple heart rings Askill’s designs are breathtaking. He honed his craft in Sydney before moving to Paris to work along side other designers like Dior Homme. His Topshop collection is seven piece’s inspired by Ancient Egyptian artefacts. “I wanted to design classic, cute personal jewellery that could go with every look and feel,” mentions Askill.
